I love Boutique Catering! I think I will always say that in every post I do about the special events I cater for. Check out the delish menu I created for this memorable event!
This specific event was for my Mom and my cousin Shirlin. Since they are both born on the same day, I thought it would be nice for all of the women to gather around at my place and have a nice lunch and some dessert & wine 🙂 I have to tell you, it’s really hard to cater for a group of women that are so accustomed to what they know. You have to break them out of their shell and that’s what I did with my mother. Everything I suggested, she suggested something else. Sometimes it’s good to have some change and try something different. It’s a risk for them but the outcome is amazing and totally worth it!
I wanted to do something light for lunch since our day started with Armenian coffee, fruit and pastries, you sort of get full and I wanted them to have room for the birthday cake. I bought my favorite (and my mom’s) 3-Berry Cake from Patticakes in Altadena. I can’t explain how amazing this cake is. Wrapped in white chocolate and white chocolate shavings, it is layered with mascarpone cheese and berries. It is divine! This cake was at my engagement party and at my wedding. I don’t think I can ever cheat on it!
I planned and wrote down a bunch of menus that I thought would go well and I just narrowed it down to what was the best menu for this event. They loved every bite of it and I quote “Such a nice change from what we usually eat!” I was so happy to hear that! Here is the final menu:
Heirloom Tomato & Burrata Salad
Farmer’s Market Heirloom Beet & Citrus Salad with Pea Shoots & Boursin Cheese topped with Balsamic Glaze
Organic Green Apple & Wild Arugula Salad with Roquefort Blue Cheese & Candied Almonds topped with Fig Balsamic
Roasted Fresh Herb Organic Chicken Breasts
Pistachio Pesto Linguini
Roasted Fingerling Potatoes & Organic Heirloom Baby Carrots
